The MCHF & WHC exists to fulfill a public benefit. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation we work to fulfill our Mission and Vision to bring awareness to our cultural heritage.

We are guided by a simple principle: that our management of the MCHF & WHC must represent our Mission and Vision. 


The MCHF & WHC is a member of the Montana Nonprofit Association, Museums Association of Montana (MAM), and American Association for State and Local History (AASLH)


The Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame gallery TALES FROM THE SADDLE: COME RIDE ALONG, a hands-on exhibition focused on how the horse shaped the west, is now open in partnership with the Charles M. Russell Museum in Great Falls. Saddle up and enjoy a virtual reality game, interactive children’s activities, and read the stories of our MCHF inductees featured on the kiosk.

Summer Hours (May 1-Sept 30): Monday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Winter Hours (Oct 1-April 30): Thursday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Museum is closed on the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Winter Holiday (Dec 24-Jan 2), Easter, July 3 and 4.
