GOVERNANCE STANDARDS & POLICY STATEMENTS
The MCHF & WHC exists to fulfill a public benefit. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation we work to fulfill our Mission and Vision through state-wide educational programming and through the efforts of many to bring awareness to our cultural heritage.
We are guided by a simple principle: that our management of the MCHF & WHC must always exceed the public trust expectations that our important Mission and Visions demand. We regularly review our governance standards and have adopted the standards for accredited museums as issued by the American Museums Association and the American Association of State and Local History.
We accomplish nothing if our leadership fails to bring honor to our cultural heritage. This way of life and the values that exemplify it must always be a viable and credible option for future generations to choose to adopt for themselves.
